In the US, our Homeland Security is a complete JOKE. The US citizens who actully pay for all of this are just one big "soft target" unworthy of real protection, hence the ports and border and NOLA fiascos. The main thrust of security post 9/11 is to whittle away at our rights and make the populace scared, hence the current NSA wholesale communications phishing expedition fiasco, harassing photographers, GITMO, reclassifying public documents and so on. I must sound like a crank, but I don't even watch the news every night. It's just happening all around all of us in broad daylight - you don't have to dig around for examples. So, so sad. Lord, I wish some righteous politician would just stand up and tell the truth to the US public.
