Schaffhausen sits on a small parcel of land jutting into southern Germany. It was a favorite route in both World Wars for escaping POW's. Edouard V Isaacs, Pat Reid, Airey Neave, and a slew of others must have passed by the IWC plant as they were turned over to their embassy staffs for processing and repatriation.
