Subject: [Leica] Slide scanning question

The Leica slides I choose to print (letter size) I scan with a Nikon 4000. 
Which is better:

- to set the size before scanning (reducing the scan to 400+ dpi)

OR

- resize/resample in PS (from a 24x36/4000 scan)

or is it a wash?
