Folks at Olympus in New York have taken an interest in my Lympa Log, and I've had a couple of great conversations with a manager there. Upshot of it is a Zuiko 90-250mm f2.8 telephoto and a 1.4 telephoto extender, which just arrived on loan yesterday. Lens weighs over seven pounds and dwarfs the little E-330. Shot a couple of quick shots right away from the driveway - then realized the neighbors may think either I'm spying or about to shoot them with some strange new weapon. But their Venetian blinds look really sharp! Can't wait to give it a real road-test soon, maybe from the bird blinds at the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. (See my past project with the bird folks there at: http://www.northcoastphotos.com/whatnew1.html ) Next week-end I'll be at the Blue Angels air show in Sacramento and hope to shoot some fast-moving birds with both the 90-250 and my APO 70-180 on the Olympus E-330. Maybe after that I can do some controlled side by side testing at similar focal lengths and apertures. Officially, I'm a chaperone at the air show for our local high school Junior Navy ROTC cadets. When I asked the CO of the unit about the responsibilities of a chaperone, he said, "You? You just take pictures!" Tough assignment, especially last year at Kaneohe Bay Marine Air Station in Hawaii, but someone has to do it. http://northcoastphotos.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=40&products_id=12 8 Gary T >Bruce wrote > > Gary, you have mentioned the fact that Olympus have produced lenses > specially for their E digital system, but you show us Lympa > combinations ................ > > What about some comparison shots, with similar length and quality > lenses?
