Every time that I look at the 25,000 images there I think I ought to update the keywords. Then I think that I have 25,000 to do and have a beer instead ;-) If you're going to use cataloguing software and want to be able to search easily keep those keywords updated from day 1!. Steve -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+lug=steveunsworth.co.uk@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+lug=steveunsworth.co.uk@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Nathan Wajsman Sent: 05 March 2006 08:55 To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Software Lew, When I first started learning photography back in 1985, I was anal retentive about keeping records, so I noted all my exposures etc. I have since come to the conclusion that this information was never actually used, and since then I have simply used an Excel spreadsheet to record my film information. Each roll has a number like 2005_31, and I have also recorded which images on each roll I have scanned and what the subject matter of the roll is. This only to enable me to locate a given image quickly. Now that I shoot digitally, I don't bother with that--of course, the exposure data and the date and time of the image is recorded by the camera. At some point I will have to start to use keywording software (or just the functionality built in to the software I already use, like ACDSee), but for now I prefer to spend my time on the actual photography :-) Nathan -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
