Marc, here's a suggestion if you want to continue using your film cameras 
but make digital prints until you get your darkroom up again.  Shoot with 
C41 film (BW or color) and have the film developed at a drugstore that has a 
Fuji Frontier or similar machine.  Get a CD of the scans (with or without 
prints).  Download Picasa from Google (free, and much simpler than 
Photoshop).  If you shoot in color, convert to BW in Picasa.  You can even 
add filtration effects if you like during the conversion.  Then print on 
your inkjet printer.  Frontier scans make gorgeous prints up to about 6x9 
inches.  That's what I do.  You may be surprised.  No RIPs, no profiles, and 
cheap.  All the images on my Smugmug site (see below) were done this way 
except the Vietnam and Memphis galleries, which I scanned from old negs.  If
