This year the weather was blustery, perfect flying weather for the larger falcons such as Peregrine, Saker (a eurasion species) and a captive-bred hybrid gyr/peregrine/prarie falcon owned by a club member. During the better wind gusts each of these large falcons would test the wind with their wings, occasionally rising in the air a foot or so above the perch the bird is tethered to: http://wildlightphoto.com/birds/falconidae/pefa02.html Technical stuff: R8, 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R, extension tube, shoulder stock & monopod, E100G All comments welcome. -- Doug Herr Birdman of Sacramento http://www.wildlightphoto.com
