Yes, or I hire a high school student to do it for me.

Yes, there was a fix for the LS-4000 that involved taping a credit
card to prevent more than one slide from entering the feeder
slot. The fix on the LS-5000 reduces the space to achieve the same thing.

Greater dynamic range. More precise focusing. Flatter film
plane. Those are claims. I just know the scans from the 5000 are an
improvement.
