Hi Sonny,
Given we're both "retired pros.";-) well me supposed to be. ;-) I was just 
about to post your same comments about tearing a piece off the end of the 
film box, jam it in the hot shoe and away you go.

I used a thin red tape on the back of one M camera that indicated the colour 
camera and it was always 100 if working out doors and high speed as 
necessary for working indoors.  And there wasn't any need to indicate the 
indoor colour simply because as soon as the shoot was done all cameras were 
emptied and that was that until the next shoot.

The torn off end works best jammed into to the hot shoe as the simplest 
answer to this situation.

Then yer not sticky things all over the camera.

Never mind putting it on the base plate because you might change base plates 
in a hurry some day.
