Hi,

Has anyone used these Jupiter 8 Russian lenses on their leica's before? They
are 50mm/2 heard a lot of good things about them and they are dirt cheap
atm. I've also heard some stories that say that they have radioactive
compounds in their makeup, any idea if there's any truth to this?

Thanks!

Ed

These lenses have varying build quality, but they all seem to be nice
performing lenses. Really quirky aperture ring, and if you use that a
lot, say
on an metered camera, then it might drive you nuts. If you are a set it
and
forget it guy, then it will be fine.

I don't have much on line with it, but this one shows flare resistance as I
was shooting with the sun just above the lens.
