Reported a few minutes ago on German radio :
How much truth there is in the report I don't know, it's only minutes old.

A german military transport aircraft with 10 tons of cargo for relief in
the hurricane Katrina disaster area was refused
landing permission by the US authorities, quoted as having said "Our
country is perfectly capable of looking after itself"

Landing permission was eventually granted and, although the German
military crew were forbidden to unload the cargo, the 10 tons were
unloaded and distributed to thankful (non-government) aid workers.

Will they also refuse to let the MASH with Wings "Flying Hospital",
Medevac, land.

It's scandalous enough with the delays in the US-government reacting to
the disaster, but IMO this caps it all
