Shoot a picture of a person with various foreground and background objects with a wide-angle lens, and one with a telephoto lens at the same aperture setting from the same distance, print them cropped with the subject's head the same size in the final prints, and they will be identical in terms of depth of field. This experiment is equivalent to shooting with different sensor sizes, since the printed area comes from different-size areas of the same sensor.
