Moments before the planet Krypton eploded into millions of deadly
fragments, scientist Jor-El filled a rocket with artifacts
representing the pinnacle of Krypton civilization. Landing in Japan
on the grounds of the Konica camera company, these cameras were
marketed to earthlings as the Konica Auto S3. These technological
wonders were far ahead of earth technology of its period, and still
are remarkable today. In a package considerably smaller than the
smallest Leica 35mm camera, Krypton science managed to place an
outstanding 38mm f1.8 lens that takes easy to find 49mm filters. The
light meter sensor is inside the filter ring, eliminating the need for
compensation. The shutter covers 1/8 to 1/500th. The Auto S3 comes
with a hotshoe and a GN system that compensates for ambient light with
any flash system. Impossible you say? Not for Krypton technology!
Bright line finder with aperture visible in the viewfinder. This
particular example has a couple of minor scratches on the top plate,
but has had its viewfinder cleaned and the rangefinder is as clear as
a bell. Comes in a worn case and non-standard lenscap. Performance
of the lens really approaches that of a Hexar, in a much smaller
package. And no pesky autofocus -- which the denizens of Krypton
considered to be from the Bizarro world.

$225 US plus postage.
