You may find the following comparative review interesting (Nokton 40mm MC, Nokton 40mm SC, Summicron 40mm, Rokkor 40mm). Sorry, the text is in Japanese, and the tests are done on Epson R-D1. http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/cda/review/2004/12/03/466.html Conclusions: All the four lenses perform very well. The differences between Nokton MC and SC as well as between Summicron and Rokkor are very subtle. Nokton gives better image quality than Summicron/Rokkor at the same apertures. It is noteworthy that the out of focus rendition is very smooth with Nokton.
