Glen Gould recorded The Goldberg Variations for the second time and last
time on a Yamaha he found in back of Carnegie Hall at Ostrovsky's. It was a
much-used one that was not prominently displayed.

There are five Steinways that could be called his piano. The famous one,
Concert grand 318, or CD 318 (the D denotes its is part of the stable grand
piano stable Steinway has for concert artists and like a barn or racing car
team it has its dedicated technicians to keep them in perfrect order) is in
the National Library.
