I have a pretty good LCD monitor at work, and it makes all B&W shots from my site look steel blue cold (and most are warm black). Forget LCD out of the box for color work OR B&W work. If you need color accuracy there is no substitute for a good tube. Take a look at the LaCie monitors. Lots of bang for the buck and get a calibrator like Eyeone from Gertrag.
