I bet if you google it, there are tons of advice on how to photograph 
jewelry to minimize reflections.

I like ALT1 better. When I saw the first one, my first thought is that you 
need a more contrasting background to show the pearls off, and ALT1 does 
that. May be instead of a light colored Chinese silk, try a darker colored 
one?
