Subject: [Leica] A minor discovery - improvised rear M lens cap
From: phong at doan-ltd.com (Phong)

When using CV (and others') LTM lenses on Leica M
bodies using the LTM to M lens adapters, I always run out of
rear lens caps. Last week, I bought the Cv 25mm lens, and to
my pleasant surprise, found that the cap of the cheap
viewfinder case can double as an M rear lens cap. The fit
is not perfect, and you need to wiggle a little bit to engage
the grooves, but it works well enough.

Perhaps others already knew of this, but I thought I would
pass it along.

Caution: Be careful with lenses with protruding
rear elements.

To Tom Abrahamsson/Stephen Gandy: Since you have
personal contact with Mr Kobayashi, perhaps you can
talk with him into making the finder case cap fit the M
rear lens mount better, and make it a tad deeper.
Somehow, that seems like an idea he would appreciate it
very much, an idea very much in the spirit of Cosina.

Cheers,

- Phong
