There is a lot of truth to that. As the first college kid in the family, I 
totally chose my own destiny and career path (which I can't explain to 
them, it's tough to explain writing embedded compilers to folks who hardly 
speak English!) and my wife and I try hard not to push our kidz too hard. 
Fortunately (!) neither of our kidz is a genius type in math or music or 
any of the traditional things that Asians suppose to excel in.... It's a 
difficult fine line to tread as a parent.
