Mom is a Nursing Instructor who commutes 50 miles each way a day, takes
yoga, sings in the church choir which involves a practice on Wednesday
nights.

Dad is a Digital Imaging Specialist at a regional university with a short
commute, active photographer.

Junior is an active teenager, in the Scouts, a rock band, the school
orchestra school jazz band, and takes music lessons.

Older son is a Junior at University, member of a jam band, has own
apartment, works three nights a week but likes home cooking, thus joins us
several
times a week.

This family sits down at the table for breakfast every morning except
Saturday. They also have a sit-down-at-the-table-Supper seven days a week,
unless
they eat out.

Sometimes those suppers consist of Popeye's Fried chicken, with Red Beans
and Rice as a side and coleslaw.. Sometimes supper consists of a smoked
chicken from the Tin House, and occasionally is a Pizza from Beaudoin's,
where
senior junior works.

Most of the time, it is a home-cooked meal with entree, vegetable and
salad.

We have eaten supper in front of the TV about twice in the past year, and
we
were all there, having served our plates from the table in the adjoining
kitchen.

If you think that living in little old Natchitoches is the reason we can do
it, I would explain that we did it in New Orleans too. It is not Norman
Rockwell at all.

This balancing act is kind of like a picture a week project. It really is
not hard to do, if you make it a part of your life.

Regards,
Sonny
