These lenses could be like the current Canon tilt/shift lenses which have a proper EOS mount with electronic contacts but are manual focus only. One of the problems for Leica doing this is that Canon long glass is already superb. Where Leica lenses are of most use to Canon users is at the wide end (where Canon are weak) but these are the lenses that are hardest to focus manually. The other problem for Leica is that the R lens line-up is prohibitively expensive and will be a hard sell compared to equivalent Canon offerings.
