I have, over a couple of decades, shipped all kinds of goods, used camera equip, book publishing material, finished books, fine art, film to and from destinations, etc, via FedEx. I have never paid your so called fee ($75?) - I don't know what amount to put in the parens either as I have never paid it! I have had bad experiences with UPS charging customs clearing fees, and perpetrating very late delivery, whereas I have never had such an experience with FedEx. I HAVE been charged duty on used equipment coming to me via USPS from other countries, but still, never with FedEx. Last year I bought a special back for my 4x5 camera, from England. I specified FedEx and it arrived on time w/o any extra charges. A number of years ago I was dealing with a company in Hong Kong. We sent everything back and forth via FedEx. Actually, they were the folks that put me on to FedEx. I remember one morning, getting a fax from them saying that a FedEx shipment had been shipped that day (the fax came during the night US time) and then a knock on the door... it was the package. I have had nothing but great service from FedEx. Six months ago, I needed a dryer (large photo FB drum dryer - 400lbs) shipped from where I bought it, to me, 1000 miles away. I called FedEx Freight, gave them the address, they picked it up, and 24 hours later, the truck pulled up in front of my house with the dryer. $92. So you can call me stupid if you wish. I probably am. But I tend to stay with something that works. JB
