About 2 months ago, I stepped into one, and they had plastic-packed digital cameras for less than $100 CAD ($80 US), and I think the were 1 meg sensors. I'll bet that the price has dropped into your range, and that there are equivalent discount electronics stores in your area. The names aren't Nikon, Canon or Leica, but some electronics brand. Just browsing at Amazon: $19 : http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002ZONRE/qid=1102389048/ br=1-1/ref=br_lf_p_1//002-9342229-9819201?v=glance&s=photo&n=1067690 $47: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002ZONQU/qid=1102389048/ br=1-2/ref=br_lf_p_2//002-9342229-9819201?v=glance&s=photo&n=1067690 The future is frightening, isn't it? And it doesn't take $2300 to make a Leica. regards, Vick -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of eric Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 10:02 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] First digital camera for my son? thanks to everyone - but I am looking for a <$40-50 digi cam, one button, durable camera! I think they exist.. Buying a bunch of disposable (the word alone gives me shivers..) cameras is prob best. Eric
