Subject: [Leica] that 3-D look...
From: richard-lists at imagecraft.com (Richard)

I know this subject probably has been discussed to death, and please no
circle of confusion please, I get a headache just thinking about the name :-)

However, this much I know: at the plane of focus, some distances in front
and behind also look focus. No problem. DOF and all that. My question, if
we plot the out-of-focusness against the focus point, the curve is glass
and lens design dependent, is it not? So far example, one can imagine a
lens with very smooth bell curve like slopes on either side. In contrast,
there are probably lens that have very sharp rise and fall.

I am postulating that the ones with the smooth gentle slopes are the Leica
lens :-)

Opinions? Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
