In addition, the 1 series cameras weigh about twice as much as the 20D, which is no small matter when you want to walk around with it all day. But finally, and most importantly, the 20D delivers outstanding image quality; the fact that it is 8 MP and not 11 or 16 MP is largely irrelevant since I do not make poster-sized prints. As for lenses--yes, I can easily see the quality of the Leica R glass on the Canon, certainly with the 100mm Apo Macro. I know there are those who say that with digital lens quality matters less since it is all "dumbed down" by the anti-aliasing filter and whatnot, to which I say: baloney!-because when I look at the images the difference between lenses is there to see.
