Basically, some people will tell you 6Mp/8Mp/...16Mp!!! will be vastly superior to any film scan, mostly because there is no grain and can scale up REALLY well and of course when you get 10+ Mp on a decent sized sensor, you are talking about quite a bit of noise less resolution. Other people tell you that in the ideal conditions, a Velvia/TechPan/<insert favorite high res film> will beat the stuffing out of digital of nothing short of 20Mp/36Mp/<depending how you do the math>. I say - look at the prints. Do you like them? If so, then it is good enough, regardless how it was captured. I'd say this again - my 11x14" prints done from scanning Provia 100F/400F look as good as my friend 11Mp Canon 1D output of similar sized. They clearly look different, but neither is one better than others, IMHO.
