Ah, but such magnificent insanity! I got my Nocti from a UK LUGger (thanks Simon), who immediately started to suffer from Nocti withdrawal symptoms. It didn't cross my mind for a moment that I could have bought a pristine Nikon body and several lenses for the same price. BTW, you can see some of my early Nocti efforts at: http://www.iol.ie/~corkflor/ <snip> >Question is, how practical are you? Ted Grant's Nocti advocacy was the main reason I bought it - much to the alarm of my bank manager. As he (Ted, not my bank manager) points out, it's a great general purpose lens as well as a specialised one. I used it 'loaded for bear' (Fuji 800) at a musical evening in Austria recently. It was so dark that we could barely see each other, but the shots turned out fine (1/60th wide-open as I recall). <snip> >However, the current value of the Noctilux is academic as far as I am >concerned. My only problem is that I'll probably be cremated, which may be a waste of a good Nocti....... :-) Best Alex -- Alex Hurst Waterfall Nr.
