You may be more accurate if you look at a ruler, scale, tape measure with both eyes open. One eye looking through the finder of course. You will find you can align the images from each eye such that the zero point on the scale is aligned with each image. It will look as though the image through the finder is superimposed over the image from your naked eye. Then simply pick a common point on the scale, say the 10 inch mark and see where the reduced image lines up with the one from your naked eye. For example, if the 10 inch mark on the reduced image aligns at the 6 inch mark on the image from your naked eye then the magnification is 0.60. Ok, everyone test their 0.85, 0.72 and 0.58 M6 finders.
