It's not so much what is debated but how it is debated that makes the discussion interesting. I for one appreciate hearing well thought out arguments on both sides. I do not know much about the details of Leni Riefenstahl's private lifes (I know very litlle of any photographer's private life really), but what I have seen of her photography I greatly admire. Even if she was a hardcore Nazi, that would not take away my recognition of her talent. Genius is on both sides of "Good" and "Evil". Nonetheless, I am interested in kowing more about her involvement with the Nazi, since the topic came up. - Phong Peter Dzwig wrote: > > OK guys, this Riefenstahl bit is getting more than a little boring now. > > Can I suggest a LUG position on Riefenstahl * Brian please note > *, that we as > photographers admit, if perhaps somewhat grudgingly at times, > that her images as > images per se are among the best of their day and that some (eg > Owens at the > start of the 100m) stand as great photos; but that we > wholeheartedly deplore her > apparent politics and any involvement she may have had with the > Nazi regime. and that we halt the discussion and consign her to the list of > subjects that > aren't discussed on this list.
