But then I thought, "Nah, I don't wanna sully the elevated discourse on the LUG. . . " So, Tina, ya wanna discuss visual Gestalt psychology and its applications in decisive moment photography. . . ? :-) :-) ;-) As to the sharpness issue, I must confess to having downloaded several of the photos and experimented with unsharp mask. I carefully judged its effect on the model's curves. . . er, the TONAL curves. For educational purposes only, of course!!! Anyway, so far, the mainstream DSLRs are visibly better. But if the sample cameras out there are beta models, there could still be some improvements forthcoming. I've noticed that when they release cameras for preview, the camera companies ask sites like Dpreview.com not to post or rate images taken with the preview cameras. What we're seeing with the R-D1 may be the reason why. So far, the images have been a little disappointing, but we may not be seeing the finished product. Time will tell. --Peter Re. http://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/2004/0723/nishikawa.htm >Sonny said: > >>> You need translation?.. Oh... there are words there<<, And Ted said: >Right on Sonny, I don't have a clue what the heck Peter was looking at! ;-) >But it sure as hell wasn't what I was looking at! :-) :-) > >Maybe the two of us should pop over there and show them how to make RF >cameras work.
