Would somebody point me toward something that would explain the pros and
cons of registering photographs individually or as a group with the US
copyright office?

I have looked through here:

and don't see anything that really says if there's an advantage in choosing
one method over the other other than the obvious cost issue.  $30 for each
registration.  If you can register 100 photos as easily as you can register
one, then why would anybody choose to just do one at a time?
