It appears that the frame lines are to be selected manually by the user a la Voigtlander Bessa-R2. See photo link below: http://www.imaging-resource.com/NPICS1/EPSON_R-D1_6_L.JPG My question is this: Does the frameline selector engage lines for the 35mm equivalent or the digital equivilent of the 28, 35, and 50 focal lengths? For example, according to the focal length converter on the back of the camera, a 35mm lens with a 50mm focal length equals a 75mm lens after you figure in the conversion factor. So, what do the lines in the viewfinder show? 50 equivalent or 75 equivalent? I recognize that framing with a rangefinder is often an approximate science. But, doesn't the focal length conversion factor further complicate issues with a digital rangefinder? Especially when one must resort to a shoe-mount finder that won't match the 42mm designation when you've mounted a 28mm lens? Just wondering out loud. Forgive me if this has come up before. Go here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0403/epsonrd1-05.jpg for a link to showing the converstion table. Thanks in advance. Frank Jackson, MS
