Wow - fascinating stuff.  Colour makes them look far more immediate
and real, almost as if the scenes depicted were happening now.

By contrast, monochrome looks much more harmlessly abstract,
"artistic" and consequently much less threatening.

All this is IMO, YMMV etc.  :?)
