Surrealism does not mean "un-real," but refers to a state of reality beyond...
above...what is normally perceived.  Andre Breton explains it a lot better than
 I can in the "Surrealist Manifesto" of 1924.  Cartier-Bresson was an early 
practitioner of the manifesto's principles.
