The Photography Department of Columbia College Chicago invites you to its final Lectures In Photography for the Spring semester. SHIMON ATTIE will give a lecture in the Hokin Auditorium, located at 623 S. Wabash on the first floor, this coming Thursday, May 6th at 6:30 P.M. Admission is FREE to the general public. Shimon Attie is an internationally recognized artist whose works have long dealt with the themes of absence, memory, and historical retrieval. Beginning with his projection project in Berlin in 1991, in which Attie reconstructed a sense of the disappeared Jewish community by projecting old photographs onto present day sites and buildings, he has continued this ambitious body of work. His most recent project, completed in Rome, "The History of Another,"opens this Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago.
