Espresso: an extraction of coffee (about 1 ounce) Ristretto (reduced): about 1/2 ounce of espresso Lungo (long): about 1-1/2 ounce of espresso Corretto (corrected): spiked with a liqueur, generally Grappa, never Lagavoulin Macchiato (stained): with a splash of milk Cappuccino (little cap): with frothed milk (cappuccino means literally small cap, Cappuccino Rosso = Little Red Riding Hood) Latte: same as cappuccino In the US there are many more variations to please sweeter local tastes.
