Nope, espresso is a drink where heated (about 95 deg C) WATER is passed
under pressure (about 9 bar) through ground coffee.

Correct - it is a commonly held myth that espresso is very high in caffeine
when actually it generally has lower caffeine (unless the blend contains a
very high Robusta content) than almost any other coffee. Another myth is
that espresso is bitter when actually a well made epsresso is nothing of the
sort - bitterness indicates that the drink has been overextracted.
