   I just thought of another suggestion: before you file the knife blades 
inside the hood, put some [Ronsonol] lighter fluid liberally on the blades and 
push the buttons in several times to see if you can loosen the dirt and dust 
that might have kept the blades from opening fully.If you don't have the lighter 
fluid, try Isopropol rubbing alcohol -- bob cole
