B&W prints area piece of cake converted and you can't tell the difference. Works surprisingly well if you need a slide as you have two options for slide production. You can scan the colour negative to computer PS, size it too 1.5 X 1.00 inches, 35mm ratio. Do the fixing of colour or whatever, burn to CD, drop it at your pro lab and they make a perfect colour balanced slide. Or you can take the colour neg, order a slide directly from the neg of their colour balance and you have a colour slide. If they're a good lab you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between an original slide or a "produced slide from a colour negative!" Cost? It varys but can be between $2 and $5.00 each slide depending on the lab. It's worth a try as it's only a few dollars and your own experince as you never know when it might come in handy some day. ted
