Enough to fill our back orders and finally offer to everyone, the LUG getting first crack as always... These cameras are not just lame "special editions" where the manufacturer uses rarity and new name as an excuse to raise the price. Rather these are meticulously surfaced and re-created artworks. The photo I saw before receiving the Hammertone didn't do it justice. It is actually a "matte finish" dark grey camera, with chrome trim hardware, and a paint texture identical to the earlier hammertone cameras I have seen on display at a camera museam (...I have never owned one.) My guess is that this paint is significantly more resilient than the black paint of the last LHSA special edition. (black paint M6 TTL's) The engravings are all spot-on, with the script "Leicavit" engraved on the front of the Vit identical to the ones in the 60's. The price is not cheap at $3500 for the camera and $1100 for the vit, but with the recent price raises on the "regular run" MP's and M7's we have been able to put together a few Hammertone kits that made a lot of sense without spending all one's money. It is clearly superior to its big brother the Minilux in many ways, not least for having a more "M" like finder and focus confirmation and being much smaller. I am selling my demo, used by me for 4 days and I believe without a mark, with full US warranty for $895. ($100 off lowest price.)
