Leica is no different from any other companies in trying to market a product. They in turn need someone like Puts to help get the word out. However, as in any publications, the user themselves have to determine whether such writings are worth reading. I myself see Puts writings as a source of information, but I wouldn't take it as Leica's Bible. Some commonsense should be exercised. Personally, I would rather have the information than none. Whether I find it useful or not, the choice is mine. Also, when anybody ask me about performance of any Leica equipment, I would never quote Puts, because if I don't know the answer, I would rather say I don't know. But if I do and have personal experience with it, I wouldn't hesitate to vouch for or against it. - --- eric@jphotog.com wrote: > > "Conflict of interest" > > I think this is one of those things that is way > over used and cared > > Being a journalist, I am automatically suspiscious > of people who hide > their affiliation with anorganization. > > As for Erwin, I think he has established a > reputation for his testing > methodology.
