That I can agree with.   It does handle the flare and keep it localized.   I
did think you were saying it was an example of a shot without flare, so
there's the difference.   Your second example does indeed have a total lack
(as far as I can see) of flare, and it too is in a situation where flare is
very hard to avoid.
