Unless they put some kind of rangefinder or focus-assist indicator in the VF, manual focus won't be worth much. At least that is my impression - maybe others have had more luck with focusing on an LCD... For manual focus, an SLR seems to be the best bet right now - a real rangefinder would change my opinion. BTW: I was reading where the Olympus E1 allows you to use the focus ring in either Nikon-direction or Olympus/Leica direction! That is cool.
