I have my doubts as to whether USB and firewire will be around (or compatible with today's versions) in 10 years. Sure, the camera itself may work. (How long does the LCD screen last?) But if it won't work with current computers... My wife's digital camera is "only" 4 or 5 years old. And she can't get replacement software that transfers images. It's still installed on my computer, but we can't install it on her new computer...and I have my doubts as to whether it'll work smoothly with XP. But...most people don't buy digital cameras for what'll happen in 10 years. It's the convenience they provide now that's the value.
