With anything slower than f/2.8, your bounce options with the SF20 dwindle quite rapidly, unless you're willing to begin using a faster emulsion. When using the M6 / SF20 bounce combo previously, I had success with the Noct, 50mm 'Lux, 21mm Elmarit and goggled 135mm Elmarit; all were used wide open. When I was using R gear, I went with the Metz instead, even with the 85 f/1.4. I have a roomful of lenses only a quarter of which can be "stopped down to F 2.8" as the ARE 2.8. Or they are slower. You must be mainly into the much faster glass and forget than most mere mortals OPEN UP to 2.8; not stop down to it. I suspect or remember you have the 85 1.4. My first lens on my first camera was a 2.8 so for some reason anything faster than that I think of as "fast." On a normal or very short tele. Mark Rabiner I do have a Noctilux though and stopping down to 2.8 is stopping way way down. 6 clicks. 3 stops. The "middle" of the lens f stops as they are engraved on the lens is f4!! Kind of where you'd expect f8 to be there. (really) - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
