Yes, it is often easier to focus with a rangefinder in dim
light...BUT...last night I was playing around with my old Olympus OM
equipment - which my daughter has had and seriously neglected for a
number of years - and low and behold! I found focusing the 20 f 2 just
as easy in dim room light as focusing the M - which has a great deal to
do with two things - one, a 45 degree angle split screen rangefinder,
and two, the fact that everything is in focus from about six feet
out...so the only focusing necessary is close...

Well, it often pays to have a quiet camera instead of a floppity-flop
SLR with
whining motor drive. Easier to focus with a rangefinder, too, in dim
light.
