It's a shame that most people don't have the common sense that you show. If they did, these scammers wouldn't have any successes. Unfortunately, it just takes one or two out of a hundred potential victims to make it worthwhile. Something else to be careful of on ebay is using escrow accounts. Never use one that the seller suggests, unless you were going to use that, anyway. Several scams have been helped along by using an "escrow" service that isn't actually legitimate. My philosophy on ebay is that I never spend any more than I'm willing to lose, which is about $50.
