First, I couldn't find any speed to speak of in fixed lens cameras (1.4 at least) and don't particularly want to invest in a DSLR with fast AF lenses. Second, the digital pix at high ISOs (>=1600) had more noise and artifacts than I am getting with Neopan 1600. Third, the DOF at normal to slightly wide, slower lenses with the small sensors doesn't allow for good isolation of the subject from background. I think I'll wait until I can get fast glass and decent noise figures at hi ISOs before jumping in. I wish someone made a strictly B&W digital cameras with fast lenses and the Foveon chip output set for monochrome only. Think of it, 3X resolution! BD, how fast is the lens on the E1? Can you capture in B&W or must you convert later? How is the noise @ 1600? Thanks.. JB - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
