The design of the vernier dials was related to that of the KLH 21 radio. KLH also made an interesting combination FM radio and turntable in a walnut wood veneer case with separate speakers, which upscale college kids liked to buy for dorm use. The vernier FM dial was used there as well. The FM tuner suffered somewhat from multipath, which could be eliminated if you chose the mono setting. I understand that KLH service will still repair their receivers and radios. That's iffy now.
