A 295 page monograph covering the life's work - thus far - of one of the world's great photographers. 8.5 by 9", good reproduction, from Jonathan Cape, London. $29.95. One of the most fascinating photos in the book is a shot of McCullin himself, taken by Nick Wheeler during the battle for the Hue Citadel in 1968. McCullin has a haunted look frighteningly similar to that on the face of his famous image of the combat 'fatigued' Marine - a photo featured in two parts on the front and back cover. For anyone interested in McCullin, war photography - or just photography. (But be forewarned that in the photo of him in Vietnam McCullin is clutching a Nikon F :-) ) B.
